Issues & Advocacy

Economics

Our foremost concern is the economy, affecting all regardless of race or background. Over four decades, America has faced economic decline, stagnant wages, and job loss. We advocate for renewable energy, crumbling infrastructure restoration, a $15 minimum wage tied to inflation, and investments in minority communities to bridge the racial wealth gap.

Voting

Protecting the right to vote is paramount. The NAACP has a historic role in ensuring equitable electoral access. We safeguard past victories, expand access, and promote voter education and candidate forums for increased registration and turnout.

Criminal Justice & Policing

We believe in police serving and protecting all equally. Key reforms include emphasizing de-escalation tactics, mandatory body cameras, abolishing for-profit policing and prisons, creating community oversight boards, eliminating broken windows policing, and appointing special prosecutors for police accountability.

Criminal Justice Reform

America’s incarceration problem disproportionately impacts vulnerable communities. We demand action, including demilitarizing the police, ending the war on drugs, expanding due process protections, and offering expungement services.

Education

Quality education is essential for our city’s future. We advocate for equal opportunities, ending student debt burdens, and improving funding and curriculum to boost testing and graduation rates.

Environmental & Climate Justice

Minority and poorer communities suffer from environmental neglect. We fight for clean and healthy homes and workplaces, leveraging Justice 40 funding for equitable environmental solutions.

Health

Our mission includes ensuring optimal health outcomes and equitable access to quality healthcare. We address racial and ethnic health disparities, focusing on chronic diseases, HIV/AIDS, and improving healthcare equity for communities of color.
