The Local Economy in Grand Rapids, MI
Wages have been stagnant since the 1970s and we need a change that benefits the working people in our community. During this downturn, America has lost millions to high-wage jobs and failed to replace them, leaving many American workers with a low-paying service job or no job at all.
At Greater Grand Rapids NAACP, we strive to build a better system in which all citizens have equal access to political, economic, educational, and social resources. We also work with the local Youth Council to inform young generations and all members of the public of the adverse effects of racial discrimination and to eliminate it entirely throughout our community.
